The end of a decorated era is going to happen in the next few days.
Peyton Manning has been one of Indianapolis’s biggest stars since 1998. Unique, talented, and famous are just three of the many words that describe him.
He’s eloquent on the football field, and has won awards upon awards that display his success on the gridiron.
The Indianapolis Colts have decided to release him. He is due lots of money, his lingering neck injury that sidelined him for the entirety of the 2011 season is too much of a gamble to invest in.
The Colts are entering a new chapter which will likely be quarterbacked by Andrew Luck. Manning will also be entering a new chapter.
Manning will be headed to another team in 2012 and possibly beyond. He might be headed to the Jets, Cardinals, Dolphins, Redskins, Browns, or the Seahawks.
The future Hall-of-Famer may never be 100% again, but should be effective for whichever team he signs with.
