Notorious WR Randy Moss, who retired in 2011, signed with the San Francisco 49ers today.
The Niners desperately need a star wideout, and while Moss may not be as dominant as he was in his earlier NFL years, he had a fantastic workout in front of HC Jim Harbaugh and other 49er officials, according to CSN Bay Area.
Moss can stretch the field and can outrun cornerbacks and safeties, despite that the 1998 rookie of the year is 35 years old. He will be effective for the San Francisco offense in 2012.
Moss’s contract only lasts for one year, but he should be continuing his career in the NFL for longer than this season. If Moss displays that he can compete at his standard level, the Niners should look to resign the wide receiver to another short term deal.
Previous to visiting to Niners, Moss visited with the New Orleans Saints.
