Yes—it may be the fifth straight free agency update, but the frenzy continues…
Manning Update IV
Free agent quarterback Peyton Manning worked out for the Tennessee Titans today, and the Titans’ brass seemed very impressed with the signal-caller. Along with the Denver Broncos, the Titans said that No. 18 looked very comfortable. Manning worked out with the Broncos and San Francisco 49ers.
Manning has reportedly told the Titans, Broncos, and Niners that his decision will come either on Monday or Tuesday, according to the NFL Network’s Albert Breer. All three teams are waiting for Manning’s choice anxiously.
Lloyd Agrees With Patriots
WR Brandon Lloyd has agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots. The 2010 league leader in receiving yards is reunited with Josh McDaniels, who currently is the Pats’ offensive coordinator. In 2010, McDaniels was the head coach of the Denver Broncos for most of the season, and Lloyd was on McD’s roster. The Patriots also signed WR Anthony Gonzalez today.
Abraham Resigns With Falcons
Falcons DE John Abraham was targeted by the Titans and Broncos, but decided to continue on as an Atlanta Falcon. Abraham is a fantastic pass-rusher that sacks quarterbacks at an incredible rate.
Rams Sign Wells
Former Packers C Scott Wells signed with the rebuilding St. Louis Rams today. The Rams are an attractive team for free agents because they are under recently hired HC Jeff Fisher’s tutelage. The Packers may want to select C Peter Konz this April, as the former Wisconsin Badger is the best center in the 2012 draft.
