Tebow’s A Jet
Former Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow has been traded to the New York Jets, according to sources. The former Florida Gator suprisingly picked the Jets over the hometown Jacksonville Jaguars. Tebow grew up not very far from the city of Jacksonville.
After signing QB Peyton Manning, there really was no space for Tebow on the Broncos’ roster. Without Tebow’s presence, Manning won’t have to worry about fans rallying up the Tebow chants.
There was a snag in the deal earlier today, as the Jets did not realize they would have to give the Broncos $5 Million of “recapture language,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Jets have agreed to pay $2.5 Million.
Tebow will likely be a package player, as current starter QB Mark Sanchez has the reigns. However, if Sanchez struggles, Jets fans will be yearning for some Tebow Time.
Notably, the Jets’ new offensive coordinator, Tony Sparano, was the Miami Dolphins head coach when the ‘Phins heavily utilized the infamous wildcat formation in South Beach.
