Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte and his team are in a very awkward situation.
Bears HC Lovie Smith does not sound worried, and had this to say to ESPN’s Rachel Nichols:
We love him, he’s going to rush for a lot of yards for us. It’s going to work out fine.
Smith told Nichols that he talked to Forte. The HC doesn’t seem worried, but he should be.
Forte’s production in both the run and pass games is rarely paralleled across the league.
I’ll say it now: Forte is in the elite class of running backs. He deserves big money for all the yards he racks up. In 12 games last season, Forte rushed for 997 yards and tallied over 400 more via receiving.
The Bears really need to clean up the situation, because they can’t afford missing out on having one of the NFL’s most premier backs.
