Former LSU Tigers DB Tyrann Mathieu was booted off of his college team after failing drug tests and getting arrested on for drug-related purposes. He didn’t clean his résumé, but the Honey Badger proved to still be in football shape—for the most part. Anyhow, read on to see how he and others fared on Tuesday.
Winner: LSU Tigers CB Tyrann Mathieu
Mathieu benched 225 pounds a minimal four times, which, compared to his fellow defensive backs, is horrible. Questions surfaced whether he didn’t work hard enough in the weight room. However, the Honey Badger doesn’t need a lofty bench rep number since he is playing corner. Strength won’t hurt, though. He ran a 4.5 40-yard dash, and should creep in the first round.
Winner: Alabama CB Dee Milliner
Milliner’s A1 speed notched him a spectacular 4.37 40-yard dash time, only .01 off the mark of first place compared to his fellow defensive backs. Milliner is 6’0″, 201 pounds. Scouts drool over his frame, and he will be drafted very high come April.
Loser: Texas A&M S Kenny Vaccaro
Vaccaro was nothing short of a disappointment in Indy. He ran a lackadaisical 4.63 40-yard dash. Vaccaro didn’t improve his stock, and this opportunity to escalate up draft boards was shattered.
