QB Vince Young was a talented signal caller back in his heyday. Fresh out of Texas, VY snagged media hype during his early career days for the Tennessee Titans. His NFL career fell off the tracks, but he showed immense potential while performing at the Texas Pro Day.
When news broke out that once illustrious QB Vince Young was going to make a return, excitement was somewhat riled up.
VY was electrifying while playing for the Texas Longhorns and Tennessee Titans. His recent stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills were, contrary to his early career, steeply gut-wrenching.
However, Young showed signs of potential when he performed at the Texas Pro Day on Tuesday.
His passes were on target. VY looked athletic. He regained his swagger from his early days and should get a second shot in the NFL.
Young could end up on a quarterback-thirsty team like the Jacksonville Jaguars. Young and Jags RB Maurice Jones-Drew would be flat-out nasty.
Quite a bit of teams have been asphyxiated by lackadaisical play from the sporting world’s most premier position. Picking up VY would be beneficial for those ball clubs. He has energy and plenty of talent, and would fit it to many modern NFL offenses.
