The Pack snatched two stud running backs in the draft. Who’s going to emerge as the No. 1 guy?
In April, the Green Bay Packers entered the draft with a prodigious hole at the running back position. Well, they sure fixed that all up after selecting RB Eddie Lacy (second round) and RB Jonathan Franklin (above/fourth round).
Lacy is 5’11”, 231 pounds and can handle a three-down duty, although he likely won’t due to Franklin’s presence and injury concerns. Lacy is powerful, stout, and has a solid frame.
Franklin is 5’10”, 205 pounds and is smaller than Lacy but is more of an outside threat. Franklin will be productive in the pass game, especially with QB Aaron Rodgers at the helm.
The Packers need to find a blend between these two. Whether one receives first and second down duties and the other and third down duty, they need a plan for these two bright backs.
