Bill Belichick has handled distractions in the past, and will do it again.
When New England Patriots HC Bill Belichick stood at the podium to deliver a press conference on Wednesday, the NFL world froze. It was the first time Belichick publically spoke since Aaron Hernandez was charged with murder.
Belichick talked about Hernandez longer than we expected. While he didn’t give much detail, Belichick was sympathetic to the family of the victim, Odin Lloyd, and his family.
It’s a sad day. It’s a really sad day on so many levels. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.
Belichick also spoke about the Patriots’ personnel decision-making process.
Belichick says he’s “primarily responsible” for the players who come into the organization.

Belichick’s press conference was deep and very genuine. He took the right approach to an intricate situation.
