Kerrigan with a pick-six.

The Washington Redskins spent a first round pick on OLB Ryan Kerrigan in 2011, and it has paid off well.

The former Purdue Boilermaker has totaled 16 sacks, 12 defended pass, two interceptions (which were both returned for touchdowns), and six fumble recoveries.

Yes, Kerrigan made the 2012 Pro Bowl, but little to no attention has been spotlighted on the 6’4″, 260-pound backer largely due of RG3’s presence and playing across from OLB Brian Orakpo.

This year, it will be different. After RG3 displays that he is 100% or at least close it, hype will be magnetized by the defensive productivity that this unit boasts—and ultimately geared to Kerrigan.

In 2012, the ‘Skins defense struggled, but as the team matures this unit certainly will. Kerrigan’s numbers will only improve, additionally.
