2009 Top 5 Pick Curry Retires

Curry with Oakland. 

The Seattle Seahawks dropped a fourth overall pick on Wake Forest Demon Deacons LB Aaron Curry, a surefire NFL stud. Curry had size and athleticism, and he flourished in the ACC back in his heyday.

Curry’s once craved talent never translated smoothly into the NFL. He spent 2.5 seasons with Seattle, 1.5 with the Oakland Raiders, and an offseason with the New York Giants before being released earlier this week.

On Wednesday, Curry announced his retirement.

After a lot of prayer. Consulting with God. The best thing for my family and myself is to retire from the @nfl. I enjoyed it #DeliveredDefender

The 27-year old has a whole life ahead of him, but his first career never panned out.
