A $765 Million settlement was reached between the NFL and retired players. Dating back to 2011, over 4500 NFL retirees have filed a lawsuit against the league.

Here’s a breakdown of the allocation of the money, per Albert Breer:

  • $75 Million for medical exams
  • $675 Million to compensate
  • $10 Million for education and research

In recent years, concussions and safety have risen to the pyramid of the NFL microscope. Fines have been flying and lawsuits have smacked the NFL in the face. This settlement takes a step forward in the overall advancement of the NFL, and football at all levels.
