Jacobs won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants.
New York Giants second-year RB David Wilson was set up for a fantastic 2013 season. During his first game, however, he put the ball on the ground twice. His lingering fumble issues were on national broadcast.
Before Wilson and the Giants lost to the Dallas Cowboys 36-31, backup RB Andre Brown fractured his leg. He has displayed flashes of potential throughout his career.
With Brown down and Wilson’s ball-carrying woes, the G-Men hauled in a familiar face: Brandon Jacobs.
The 31-year old back played with the Giants from 2005-2011, and played with the San Francisco 49ers last season. His Niner tenure went up in flames because he was a distraction and played in only two games.
Jacobs is a bruising workhorse who will certainly shore up this rootless backfield. He will likely split carries with Wilson, but receive 3rd down and goal line carries.
