Ireland’s tenure with the Miami Dolphins was not wildly successful, to say the least.
The Miami Dolphins and GM Jeff Ireland have parted ways.

The Dolphins have not been able to remain in playoff contention consistently in recent years. The ‘Phins were on the verge of making the playoffs in 2013, but could not seal the deal.
Ireland and co. have acquired talent over the past—notably WR Mike Wallace—however the pieces have not fallen into place for the ‘Phins. QB Ryan Tannehill is still growing, but the young signal caller is in need of more targets.
The Dolphins will definitely be in the running for a playoff berth in 2014 as long as the team can stockpile talent.
