Divisional Round Preview

This week’s slate is one for the ages.

NFC (6) New Orleans Saints @ NFC (1) Seattle Seahawks

Saturday, 4:35 PM EST, FOX

The Scoop: The Saints got smacked in Seattle 34-7 in the regular season, and will need their run game to carry them to victory this time around. Last week, Powerful RB Mark Ingram totaled 97 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. He needs to replicate his production. Seattle’s crowd however, will be too much and history will repeat itself.

The Pick: Seahawks, 31, Saints, 20

AFC (4) Indianapolis Colts @ AFC (2) New England Patriots

Saturday, 8:15 PM EST, CBS

The Scoop: The Colts’ electrifying, 28-point comeback victory against the Kansas City Chiefs displayed QB Andrew Luck’s veteran poise. They take on the New England Patriots, who, led by HC Bill Belichick and QB Tom Brady, have been lethally consistent in the playoffs. Their experience gives New England an edge.

The Pick: Patriots, 30, Colts, 24

NFC (5) San Francisco 49ers @ NFC (2) Carolina Panthers

Sunday, 1:05 PM EST, FOX

The Scoop: The Niners’ tight victory over the Green Bay Packers in frigid temperatures will give them a momentum boost through the playoffs. The Panthers have not played in a playoff game due to a Bye, but a large quantity of Panthers have never played in any playoff game in their career. The Niners’ rolling momentum will be too much for Carolina.

The Pick: 49ers, 34, Panthers, 31

AFC (6) San Diego Chargers @ AFC (1) Denver Broncos

Sunday, 4:40 PM EST, CBS

The Scoop: The Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers split the two divisional regular season games 1-1. The Chargers, who ended up in the playoffs via a controversial call, have won five straight, including one over the Broncos. However, QB Peyton Manning will make sure his squad doesn’t go one-and-done two years in a row and will play at his Hall of Fame level.

The Pick: Broncos, 34, Chargers, 27
