Packers Extend Shields

Shields has proven himself as one of the top young cornerbacks in the league.

The Green Bay Packers and CB Sam Shields have agreed on a four-year, $39 Million deal, according to the corner’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and ProFootballTalk.

With the salary cap increased to $133 Million, teams have more leeway to extend key players, like Shields.

Shields, a 2010 UDFA, has spent his entire career with Green Bay. He won a Super Bowl during his rookie campaign. In the 2013 regular season, Shields tallied 51 tackles and four interceptions in 14 games, respectively.
