The Jets have finally parted ways with the struggling veteran QB.
The New York Jets released QB Mark Sanchez. Sanchez missed the 2013 season with a shoulder injury.

The Jets drafted Sanchez with the fifth overall pick in 2009. Sanchez struggled immensely after two AFC Championship trips in his rookie and second-year campaigns.
Per USA Today, the Jets would have had to pay Sanchez $2 Million on March 25. The Gang Green saved $8 Million with this transaction.
With Sanchez out, the Jets signed QB Michael Vick.

Vick lost the Philadelphia Eagles’ starting spot in 2013 to Nick Foles. Vick battled injuries, especially towards the end of his five-year tenure with the Eagles.
The former Atlanta Falcon’s deal is for one year.
