Brown, Texans Agree

Brown has battled injuries in the past.

Former New York Giants RB Andre Brown signed with the Houston Texans, per John McClain. Rotoworld noted that the one-year deal is worth $645,000.

Brown entered the league in 2010, where he spent time with four teams. Two years later, he tallied 73 carries, 385 rushing yards (5.3 average), and eight touchdowns in ten games with the Giants. In 2013, Brown put up 492 yards on 139 carries (3.5 yard average) in eight games and three touchdowns.

Brown will be the second running back in the Texans’ backfield. RB Arian Foster is undoubtedly the feature back, but former Texans RB2 Ben Tate signed elsewhere this offseason.

The 27-year old’s prove-it type deal emphasizes teams’ caution for injury-prone type players. Brown will likely be in a similar situation next offseason.
