The Jets have rejuvenated their offense this offseason.
The New York Jets signed RB Chris Johnson on a 2-year, $8 Million contract, per Spotrac.
Johnson, a member of the 2000-rushing yard club, hasn’t come close to replicating his monstrous 2009 stat-line (2006 rushing yards, over 2500 scrimmage yards, 14 rushing touchdowns). However, Johnson has registered over 1000 rushing yards in every season of his career.
At 28, Johnson doesn’t have his infamous 4.24 speed. But his elusiveness, agility, and mobility contributes to his success both rushing and receiving.
The Jets bolstered their offense this offseason with Johnson, QB Michael Vick, and WR Eric Decker. Last year, the Gang Green’s offense was the eighth-worst unit in the yards/game category (total offense).
With the trio of new toys, the Jets’ hopes for a Wild Card berth flickered. While the roster upgrading is far from complete, the Jets are finally moving in the right direction.
