Smith is dealing with heavy legal implications.
On Wednesday, San Francisco 49ers OLB Aldon Smith pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI and three felony weapon charges, per Cam Inman.
According to prosecutor Brian Buckelew, Smith’s jail time could vary from zero days up to four years and four months. The judge will ultimately determine the sentence’s timeframe.
This offseason, Smith has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. In addition to his legal situation, Smith was arrested for a fake bomb threat in the Los Angeles airport.
The former Pro Bowler could face a suspension in addition to jail time. Along with personal health, Smith’s off-the-field situation should be the chief priority over football at the moment.
