Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe has been suspended for the first regular season game, per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Bowe’s ban results from violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
Bowe was arrested in November of 2013 for marijuana possession. In 2009, the former LSU Tiger was suspended for four games for the NFL’s PED policy.
The 6’2″, 221-pound target has been a disappointment after inking a lucrative five-year, $56 Million contract in early 2013. Last season, Bowe tallied 57 receptions, 673 receiving yards (11.8 yards/rec) and five receiving touchdowns.
Bowe has to step up his performance this season, or else the Chiefs will let him go.
