Baker Done for 2014

The Atlanta Falcons are trying to rebound from their 4-12 2013 campaign, but lost a key component to their roster. Offensive tackle Sam Baker tore his patella tendon and is out for the season, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Baker, who was set to enter his seventh season in the NFL, was slated to start at left tackle. OT Jake Matthews, the Falcons’ first round draft pick (sixth overall) was set to start at the right side of the line.

It looks like the Falcons’ rookie will have to flip to the left side.

The Falcons posted a 13-3 record in 2012, which preceded their major collapse last season. The Falcons will try to return the playoffs, but without their blindside tackle.
