Welker Suspended Four Games

Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker was suspended four games for violating the league’s performance-enhancement policy, per multiple sources.

Welker, who tested positive for amphetamines, tested positive for Adderall, according to the Denver Post. However, ProFootballTalk reported that Welker took MDMA, which is often referred to as Molly.

When asked about Molly, Welker said, “I wouldn’t have any idea where to get a Molly or what a Molly is. That’s a joke. I don’t do marijuana, I don’t do drugs. I don’t do any drugs.”

In the 2013 regular season, Welker hauled in 73 receptions, 778 receiving yards, and ten receiving touchdowns in his season with the Broncos. Welker only played in 13 regular season games due to what would turn out to be a string of concussions.

Welker, who was concussed again this preseason, was integral to the Broncos’ AFC Championship-winning offense. However, with many targets across the depth chart, the Broncos will survive.
