Byrd Out For Season

The New Orleans Saints confirmed that safety Jairus Byrd is out for the season with a torn meniscus.

Byrd spent the first five years of his NFL career playing for the Buffalo Bills. Byrd was a ballhawk for the franchise since his rookie campaign.

During Byrd’s four regular season games this fall, the former Oregon Duck has recorded two passes defended, a forced fumble, and 17 tackles.

The Saints, who are shockingly 1-3 and in third place in the NFC South, will certainly miss Byrd. Currently, the Saints rank 29th league-wide in yards/game.

The Saints are facing the lackluster Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and are expected to win this weekend.
