The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy have agreed to a seven-year contract extension worth up to $98 Million, per sources.
McCoy has developed into a top-tier defensive lineman in the NFL since the Buccaneers drafted him third overall in the 2010 draft.
In 2013, McCoy registered 9.5 sacks and 35 tackles. Thus far this season, McCoy has tallied 14 tackles and 2.0 sacks.
Players like the 6’4″, 295-pound former Oklahoma Sooner are far and few between. McCoy’s extension will benefit the Buccaneers immensely, both in the present and in the future.
