Vick Named Jets’ Starter

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan announced that quarterback Michael Vick will start next Sunday against the Kanas City Chiefs.

During the Jets’ 43-23 loss to the Buffalo Bills, 2013 first round pick QB Geno Smith chucked three interceptions—in the first quarter. Smith was subsequently benched for Vick.

Vick put up 23 points, which was obviously not enough for a victory. However, it was enough for the 34-year old to get the starting nod over Smith.

The Jets are 1-7, and at this point, the Jets need to do everything they can to win in the short-term future.
