Palmer Done for ’14 With Torn ACL

Days after signing a $50 Million extension, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer was placed on the IR list with a torn ACL.

Yesterday, Palmer suffered the non-contact injury while stepping up in the pocket. The Cardinals went on to win the matchup against the St. Louis Rams 31-14.

Backup QB Drew Stanton will take the reins for the 8-1 Cardinals. Stanton started three games earlier this season, and posted a 2-1 record in Palmer’s absence.

Along with numerous other players and head coach Bruce Arians, Palmer has helped solidify the team and consistently win football games. However, even without the Palmer, the Cardinals should be looking to do some damage come playoff time.
