NCAA: Gordon Breaks Record

During the No. 20 Wisconsin Badgers’ 59-24 victory over the No. 16 Nebraska Cornhuskers, Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon rushed for 408 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries.

Gordon broke former TCU Horned Frogs RB LaDainian Tomlinson’s single-game rushing record of 406 yards, set in 1999. Tomlinson, a future NFL Hall of Famer, tweeted:

Gordon tallied a staggering 16.3 yard/carry mark. Notably, Wisconsin only needed 46 passing yards.

Gordon certainly put his name in Heisman contention. He dismantled the Nebraska defense en route to a record-breaking performance.
