The Chicago Bears will send wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the New York Jets in exchange for a fifth-round pick, according to a report.
In 2014, Marshall played in 13 regular season games, totaling 61 receptions, 721 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns. It was his slowest year in both receptions and yards since his rookie season in ’06.
In the NFL, a new head coach and general manager typically leads to personnel changes, and Bears HC John Fox and GM Ryan Pace are simply building their own team. The Bears have more cap space heading into free agency as well.
The Jets also have a new HC-GM duo in Todd Bowles and Mike Maccagnan. The team is looking for stability, and Marshall is a big target who should be productive with the Gang Green.
