Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb agreed to a four-year, $40 Million deal to return to the team, per CBS Insider Jason La Canfora. Reportedly, Cobb could have signed a larger contract with several different teams.
The 5’10”, 191-pound wide receiver had a breakout season in 2014. Cobb recorded 91 receptions, 1287 receiving yards (14.1 yards/reception), and 12 touchdowns. Cobb was a catalyst of the Packers’ sixth-ranked offense.
With free agency officially beginning this week, we will see if more players will return to their championship-caliber teams or seek out heftier contracts with teams that are building for the future.
Cobb is only 24, and if he continues playing at a very high level, he will have bigger contract offers when this contract expires.
