Fantasy: Adrian Peterson’s Draft Stock

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been a high first round pick in fantasy leagues in recent years. Despite a lengthy 2014 suspension and absence from football, expect the trend to repeat this fall.

Vikings cornerback Captain Munnerlyn said that AP “is in unbelievable shape, like he hadn’t missed a step, and he’s out to prove a point.” Offensive coordinator Norv Turner said, “I’ve been around a lot of these guys a lot of years, and he’s one of the top guys I’ve been around. He just comes out and looks like he hasn’t missed a day. It was nice having him.”

Despite having eclipsed the 30-year mark—which often begins the end of running back careers—Peterson has fresh legs. He has only played in one regular season game since 2013.

Peterson will be a Top 5 pick in most leagues, and at the very least, will be considered for the first overall pick.
