Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Devin Hester, who is arguably the best kick and punt returner in NFL history, doesn’t have a clear role in the Falcons’ offense. Hester said, “it’s still up in the air right now.”
Hester is an electrifying returner. He has 19 career return touchdowns in the regular season, and he took a kickoff to the house in the playoffs in 2006.
Hester is also versatile on offense, but with a new head coach and new offensive coordinator, many players’ roles will be determined in the summer, and during the season.
The Falcons should get the ball to Hester in space, They could get Hester the ball with bubble screens, swing routes, and other quick plays in addition to his return duties.
