Panthers Edge Saints 41-38; Advance to 12-0

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton connected with wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery on a touchdown strike with just over a minute left to put the Panthers ahead of the New Orleans Saints. The 12-0 Panthers maintained their lead to win 41-38 and remain undefeated.

Newton finished the day with 28 completions on 41 attempts, 331 passing yards, five touchdowns, and one pick. Running back Jonathan Stewart tacked on 82 rushing yards and a touchdown.

And while the defense faltered at times to the league, the Panthers were able to close out a back-and-forth game against a high-octane offense.

The Panthers will face the 6-6 Atlanta Falcons, the 5-7 New York Giants, the Falcons again, and the 6-6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers to close out the regular season.
