St. Louis Approves $150 Million in Funding for Stadium

The St. Louis City Board of Aldermen approved $150 Million in funding for a new stadium. Currently, the St. Louis Rams are one of three teams that could relocate to Los Angeles.

The approved plan estimates the stadium would cost $1.1 Billion. $250 Million is supposed to come from the franchise, and $300 Million would come from the league. The city would cover the rest of the cost, per CBS Sports.

However, commissioner Roger Goodell stated that the league would pitch in $200 Million, which is two-thirds of what the plan has in mind.

Per the Houston Chronicle, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair stated:

St. Louis, they have come up with a proposal that is getting pretty close, in my opinion, to being an attractive. And if they do come up with an attractive proposal, then in my view, my personal opinion, I don’t think the Rams will receive the approval to relocate.

Even if the Rams end up with a new stadium in St. Louis, the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers both could relocate to Los Angeles.
