One day after being waived by the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Johnny Manziel is officially a free agent. There were rumblings in early February that the Browns were going to release the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner.
Manziel was a 2014 first round pick and appeared in 14 games (eight starts) during his time with the Browns. He completed 147 of 258 passes for 1675 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven picks. He totaled 259 rushing yards and one score on the ground.
New Browns head coach Hue Jackson made sure it was clear that Manziel’s off-the-field behavior would not be tolerated. Time will tell if Manziel gets another opportunity, but his first priority should be his health and off-the-field conduct.
