Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu has been an absolute force on the field since the Cards picked him in the third round of the 2013 draft.
The former LSU Tiger was elected to his first Pro Bowl in 2015, but unfortunately an ACL injury suffered in December prevented Mathieu from playing in Hawaii. Mathieu played in 14 regular season games last year, totaling 80 tackles, five interceptions, one touchdown, and one sack.
According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Mathieu and the Cardinals are negotiating an extension. The contract extension could make Mathieu one of the highest-paid safeties in the league.
Mathieu is an elite player, and the Cardinals will make sure he is with the franchise for years to come.
