Thurmond Retiring After Six Seasons

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, defensive back Walter Thurmond is retiring.

Thurmond was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2010 draft. He spent the first four years of his career in Seattle, where he was a member of their 2013-14 team that won Super Bowl XLVIII.

Thurmond played for the New York Giants in 2014, but he only played in two games. He spent the 2015 season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Thurmond has battled injuries throughout his career. 2015 was the first time in his six-year career that he played in all 16 regular season games.

Thurmond was a free agent this offseason.
