The Arizona Cardinals and defensive back Tyrann Mathieu have agreed to a 5-year deal worth $62.5 million ($40 million guaranteed), per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.
Mathieu is one of the most versatile players in the entire league. He can play a number of positions and is a leader on and off the field. In college, Mathieu was dismissed from the football team for violating team rules, and he was arrested in the fall of 2012 before being selected in the third round of the draft in 2013. Now, Mathieu is a role model.
Mathieu was elected to his first Pro Bowl in 2015, but couldn’t play due to a torn ACL.
