The Denver Broncos will start quarterback Mark Sanchez over QB Trevor Siemian when the Broncos open up their preseason against the Chicago Bears this Thursday, per the team’s official website.
Sanchez, who was signed this offseason, has the most experience of the Broncos’ signal callers by a large margin. Sanchez has 72 career regular season starts and six in the postseason. Siemian, a 2015 seventh round pick, has yet to attempt a regular season pass. 2016 first round pick QB Paxton Lynch is working with the third team to develop.
Sanchez is the favorite to win the job. The Broncos have their quarterback of the future in Lynch, and until he’s ready, it’ll either be Sanchez or Siemian at the helm.
