Romo Injures Back, Out Until At Least Midseason

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett announced that quarterback Tony Romo broke a bone in his back. Romo is reportedly out until at least midseason.

The Cowboys have to decide whether to put Romo on injured reserve by September 3. He would be eligible to return to practice in six weeks and games in eight weeks.

The Cowboys may add a veteran quarterback, but it looks like 2016 fourth round pick Dak Prescott will start in Romo’s absence. Prescott has been prolific this preseason. Through three games, Prescott has totaled 454 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, no interceptions, and two rushing touchdowns. He has a 78% completion rate.
