Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater dislocated his knee and tore his ACL during practice. According to the team’s official statement, there was no nerve or arterial damage. Bridgewater is expected to make a full recovery. The team placed Bridgewater on injured reserve.
QB’s Shaun Hill, Brad Sorensen, and Joel Stave are on the active roster. QB Taylor Heinicke is on the non-football injury list, but could return to practice in three weeks. Hill has the most experience out of the four, and will likely start in Bridgewater’s absence.
While Bridgewater is one of the top young quarterbacks in the league, but the Vikings should still have playoff hopes. With a strong defense and running back Adrian Peterson, they can control the clock and stay competitive on a weekly basis.
