Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff made his NFL debut on Sunday. The Rams ultimately fell to the Miami Dolphins 14-10. Goff tallied 17 completions on 31 attempts for 134 yards.
The Rams’ offense has struggled all season, so as the new starter, Goff has the challenge of trying to lead the offense to some sort of consistency. Running back Todd Gurley hasn’t been nearly as productive as he was in 2015 because opposing defenses are keying in on the run game.
The 2016 first overall draft pick will make his second career start next week at the New Orleans Saints.
The New Orleans Saints tied the Denver Broncos at 23-23 with just over a minute left in the fourth quarter. The Saints’ ensuing extra point attempt was blocked by Broncos rookie safety Justin Simmons and returned by Will Parks, also a rookie safety, for two points.
The play was reviewed to make sure Parks didn’t step out of bounds. Parks was wearing white cleats which blended into the sideline, so the call very difficult. The play was not overturned after it was reviewed.
The Broncos advanced to 7-3, and have a bye next week. The Saints sunk to 4-5, and will play the Carolina Panthers this Thursday.
